Diversity is a challenge for us in today’s global world, but it is a must to discuss the complexity of the issues, as well as to expand our artistic approach to manage the issues in the global dance film discourse. In the 2022 IMAJITARI, we would like to bring the discourse of diversity up front. It is important to be emphasized, along with the spirit of the festival, to be growing and developing with a decentralized artistic language and aesthetics. We also view that it might bold the importance of understanding the body in today’s media culture as the foundation for dance films. Based on these values, the board of jury of the 2022 IMAJITARI decided the six best works for the 2022 IMAJITARI competition:
L’Heure Bleue, with directors Danielle Huyghe and Stefan Mandersloot (Netherlands)
Circular Identity, with director Evi Stamou (Greece)
Three, with director Naoto Iina (Japan)
Herbarium, with director Iwona Pasińska (Poland)
Our Planet Destiny, with director Chen Li (China)
Silver Veiled, with directors Ginevra Panzetti and Enrico Ticconi (Germany)
